Brian Hettler is a proud leatherman, artist, and community advocate based in Hollywood, CA. His journey into leather is rooted in a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship, physical expression, and the power of chosen family. For Brian, leather is more than an aesthetic. It is a living tradition of resilience, care, and connection.
Brian has been an active and dedicated member of the Los Angeles leather and queer communities for over a decade across many lines of service. He currently helps to lead Bears LA and was honored to serve as Mr. Bear LA 2024 and Mr. LA Leather Bear 2026. He is also a longstanding member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and a recent inductee to the Imperial Court of Los Angeles and Hollywood Reign 56 as Prince Midasheart. All or these are organizations that have long been pillars of service, fundraising, and community care. Through this work, Brian has supported initiatives that uplift, protect, and celebrate LGBTQ+ lives across the broader subcultures within Los Angeles.
As a bear and leatherman, Brian is passionate about fostering spaces that are welcoming, affirming, and grounded in mutual respect. He is especially focused on strengthening community infrastructure, facilitating mentorship, scaling participation, and ensuring that newer members feel seen and supported as they find their place within the culture.
As Mr. Los Angeles Leather 2026, Brian represents a spirit of service, authenticity, and care. He is committed to honoring the history of leather while helping shape a future that is more inclusive, connected, and sustainable. One where more people can explore, express, and truly belong.
